I loved this book. The premise is intriguing and well carried out. I loved the exploration of the relationships between Rhine and her sister wives, and especially between Rhine and Linden. Nothing is black and white in this book--nothing is only good *or* bad (except, perhaps, a single character though I'm waiting to see how that plays out in future stories) and DeStefano handles the characters' reactions to living in that kind of world and swimming in those emotional depths both deftly and realistically. Also, her prose is gorgeous. Filled with rich detail and poetic composition without feeling over-written.
Added bonus: This may be my favorite cover of all time. It's clear the designer was intimately familiar with the story. The cover is a rarity in that it's both visually striking--serving the purpose of selling the book--while holding great meaning to the reader, even after the story's been read.
I can't wait to see where the next book takes us.
