Why do I love it?
I was listening to this the other day and thinking for the billionth time about how much I love it. This is amazing, because I'm incredibly picky about Christmas music. I've probably thrown away more Christmas albums that you've ever owned. Srsly (tm). It's a good selection of songs, a mix of old favorites and some non-traditional cuts. Her vocals are very mellow and a little melancholy. This definitely isn't a jubilant disc, buyer beware. Wintersong is beautiful and very sad. I keep it in my MP3 player year round, because although it mentions Christmas in the lyrics, it isn't really a Christmas song anymore than Joni Mitchell's River is. In addition to her beautiful vocals, I particularly like the original arrangements she's done on some of the songs. The First Noel/Mary Mary has an exotic sound to it, which I love. And if I didn't have a strict Christmas-music-only-during-Christmas-time rule, I'd listen to her version of In the Bleak Midwinter year round.
Where Can You Get It?
