Cougar Karma

I know the title is cheesy, but I couldn't resist. Hey, at least I didn't spell both words with a 'k'.

My story is about shifters, my very favorite supernatural creature. My MC's other shape is a cougar so I spent a good chunk of tonight researching cougars online. Last week I wrote a bunch of her back story and sketched out what her general character development will be over the course of the story/series. Who is she now, what aspects of her personality prevent her from being more successful in life, what aspects need to mature for her to move onto the next stage of her life, etc. While I was researching cougars tonight, I came across a link that discussed what cougar medicine represents in people according to native american folklore, etc. It's exactly the direction my MC is headed in. How cool is that? It felt like another element of The Book was spinning, spinning and then slid into place. I'm so happy!

Alas, the grueling world of insurance will claim my life for another 8 hours tomorrow so now it's time for bed.
