a day of ideas

i made tons of notes today. it was great! i'm so glad i haven't started writing yet. there's still so much for me to discover about my world before i really dig in. i've already changed a couple of major things which i think have solidified the story and the world a little better. the changes have definitely set the world up better for a series and i think they've positioned me for better world building. which, as rachel says, is the heart of urban fantasy.

i also officially gave up piano lessons in favor of The Book tonight. i still have another two lessons, but i gave my notice to my instructor. *sigh* i'm sad to give it up, but splitting the few coherent hours i have after work each night between husband, dog, piano, errands/chores and The Book was really pushing it. since the only elective in that mix is chores -- ok, piano, but i wish chores were elective!!! since the only elective in that mix is piano, that's what had to give. writing will be my creative outlet now.

that's all for now. i'm still trying to catch up on sleep and work is still kicking my ass.
