Plotting, that is. I was stuck for quite some time but was able to talk through it with Ben this weekend. I think I've plotted to about the middle of the book. I had to introduce a secondary villain but he kind of takes center stage for a little while as my MC finds the breadcrumbs for his trail first. The way it looks right now, the main villain isn't going to be introduced until about halfway through the book. Is that too late? She's such a great character and I really wanted her to have all the villainous glory, but unfortunately, she's just a shifter and a shifter can't accomplish the ingenious, yet incredibly evil plan she's concocted. So, she needs a villain sidekick. I'm afraid that the sidekick has now become less of a sidekick and more of a main villain, though.
What to do, what to do.
Maybe I just need to start writing and see what happens...

what about if we see flashes of the secondary villain being scared of something? we don't even have to see what it is, or who it is, but moments when we know that this 2ndary villain fears a greater force that itself? that way she (your primary) will be there in presence, even if we don't know her? i think rowling does that with some harry potter books. there's always voldemort in the background, but there's always a secondary villain who he's working through, or whatever. forwhat it's worth.
