The Muse

Well, I know this will shock and amaze you, but I'm still plotting. Yes, it's true.

I'm close to done though. I'm still basically stuck about two thirds of the way through, but I've decided to finish layering into what I have and then just start writing and see where it takes me. Ben and I have a very busy month and, of course, next month is Silly Season. So plotting will be absolutely complete (as an official task) before year end and then I'm going to do my own personal NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month, which is actually taking place now in the real world) in January. I've named it JaNo -- short for January: Novel Writing Month -- because anything with a colon in its name is cool.

I had this crazy vivid dream this morning and I opened my eyes and thought, "that's not a dream, that's a book." I'm very excited about the idea. I LOVE the world and the characters. I only have the beginnings of a plot so far, but I can't write it until after The Book anyway, so that gives me plenty of time for it to percolate in my mind. Hopefully the plot will evolve over the course of me writing The Book so that when I'm done with that, I'm actually ready to start writing this new project. That would be terribly exciting. Instead of six months of plotting. Blech.

Well, who knows when I'll update this again, so I hope everyone out there in the blogosphere is doing well. Perhaps my next post will start with "Today I wrote the first words..."
*fingers crossed*
