Whoo-hoo! Almost 2% done!!!!! Ok, maybe it's a little premature to celebrate. I skipped several parts of the opening scene in my first chapter because I was getting hung up on them and losing my flow. I'll definitely have to rewrite the scene at some point anyway, so I can add the rest in then. I'm trying to focus on getting words on a page right now and not edit so much. It's really challenging to turn off the internal editor! I never realized how much head space I was allowing her until now.
In other news, we got our new living room chair delivered today. It looks lovely. Or rather, it will look lovely once I take out the carpet, put away Christmas gifts and move the coffee table back where it belongs. One thing at a time, I guess. When I went out to meet the delivery men (wearing fleece pants and a sweatshirt), I was a bit startled to discover it felt like June outside! One of the delivery men proudly claimed credit for the 'good' weather (I think it's creepy) telling me in his spanish accent that he has been praying for it a lot lately.
Ben came home from an errand later in the day and hooked up this indoor/outdoor weather station we got for Christmas from my uncle. Lo! and behold! The temperature outside was 69 degrees and the little boy on the display was dressed in shorts.
It is still January, isn't it? Because if it's not, I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind on my word count goal.
