Hello! Sorry I've been absent for so long. It's been a busy couple of weeks and I haven't made much writing progress, hence no blog posts. The current word count is 5928/100000 but Zokutou isn't working at the moment. My plan is to get back in the saddle this week. I spent some time today editing the existing work. It occurred to me that I'll be having my first chapter critiqued in less than a month (gasp!) and I still haven't written the fight scene. So, that's on my to do list for this week (assuming my fight choreographer -- aka husband -- is available).
I've been trying to finalize my arrangements for the Romantic Times convention. Delta: You suck. My perfectly wonderful flights were changed by Delta into perfectly crappy flights that are now causing me to stay over an extra night (cha-ching) and lose most of the next day travelling. One of the other items on my to do list for today was to finalize my itinerary for the convention and then make a 'to read' list based on the authors who will be participating in the panels I'll be attending. But no. The event management website that's hosting the RT Convention info is down for routine maintenance. All day. Four weeks before the convention. Because NO ONE would be trying to use the site today. No. Cvent: You also suck.
Luckily, I also shared my day with something that most definitely does NOT suck: Karen Chance's TOUCH THE DARK, a great read about a cheeky clairvoyant who finds herself an unwilling player in a power struggle between vampires, mages, witches and fey. The sequel is due out in April. Good stuff.
