At last...

...some progress! I've been struggling with a scene all week, making little to no progress. I had plotted it out and in my head it was going to come to a very specific resolution. But the trouble was, my MC wasn't digging my resolution. She just plain didn't want to do what I wanted her to do. And she was right. What I had planned worked well for the purpose of establishing a relationship dynamic early in the book, but wasn't true to who my MC was. Too bad it took me three smashing-head-against-the-wall writing sessions to figure it out. *sigh* But I'm learning, yes I am.

Here's my week-long progress, meager though it may be:

I read GLASS HOUSES by Rachel Caine. It's the first book in her young adult series about an advanced placement 16 year old who heads to college in a town predominantly populated by vampires. I wasn't sure what to expect because I don't read much YA, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. What am I saying? Of course I did. It's Rachel Caine. Duh. (see fangirl post here)

Now that I finally made my way through that scene, I'm expecting to log approximately a million words this weekend. Ok, maybe that's a stretch goal. But a lot. Lots of words this weekend. Lots.
