Books

Haven't quite made my way back to the manuscript yet. *sheepish grin* I did, however, have the immense pleasure of reading the prologue and first chapter to Marjorie M. Liu's next Dirk & Steel novel, THE LAST TWILIGHT here. All I can say is wow. The imagery in the prologue is killer and I feel like I took a crash course in writing just by reading the first Chapter. That's what I aspire to.

I also finished reading Jeanne Stein's latest, THE WATCHER. My regular blog readers will know that I'm a fan of Jeanne's work, and the Watcher certainly doesn't disappoint. Action packed with layer after layer of villainous intrigue and trouble by the barrel-full to keep Anna busy, it's a great read. We learn a little more about the supernatural underworld Anna has become a part of as well as gaining some insight into her relationships with David, Max, Culebra and Williams. An excellent addition to your Christmas list if you haven't purchased it already.

Speaking of Christmas lists, I'd like to suggest sharing a beloved book with the folks on your 'To Buy For' list this year. Turning someone onto a new author or series is truly a gift that keeps on giving. You could also consider putting some new books on your list to Santa. Give a new author a try, or perhaps a new book or series by an author you already know you like. As always, if you'd like any suggestions, I have plenty to offer in the Urban Fantasy and (to a lesser extent) Paranormal Romance genres. I'm happy to email anyone with my thoughts on any of the books on my list of books I've read this year or my Highly Recommended list.
