I got a late start tonight and crawled through a few hundred words the last couple of hours. Will. This. Scene. Ever. End. ?. It's suuuuuuuch slow writing. I agonize over every sentence, feeling like I'm navigating a minefield. Normally I'd say that I'm trying to make the characters do something that's not right for the story, that the story's fighting me. But I don't think that's it this time. This scene is like a tree -- every bit of dialogue seems to branch off into several possibilities, each changing the path of the relationships in the story. I'm treading carefully, so carefully...
I'm not going to bother posting a progress meter until I have some real progress to report. On the positive side, I'm quite pleased with the actual composition. It may take me minutes on end to write the next lines, but at least they're good ones when I do finally write them. Now if only I could be sure I'm climbing the right branch of the tree...!

This sounds like great progress - it's not all about the wordcount, after all. Well done for battling through this difficult scene! :)
p.s. If you ever want to...you know... post a teaser or snippet of your work... feel free! *g* Or if you want me to read anything for you... (no pressure, though. I'm just curious.)
