And there was much rejoicing...

Early last week I spilled many, many ounces of water on my nearly brand new MacBook. A gorgeous coral-shaped stain (for lack of a better word) grew on my screen, completely screwing up everything I tried to look at. It would have made a great painting or piece of framed photography, but as a laptop screen--not so much.

Devastated and panicked, I left the laptop shut down for most of the week, writing on my work laptop or my husband's computer when I could. This morning we turned it on to check and voila! All better! Hence, much rejoicing. And immediate watching of the latest episode of Lost from ABC.com. *happy sigh*

I wrote on and off today, managing 1,160 words. It feels good, like coming back home after a vacation. Vacation is always great! But nothing quite beats the feeling of settling back into your familiar routine.

I've been working on a bridge scene--getting my main characters from one major plot point to another--which I always struggle with. They're just about set up for the next bit of action so I expect easier progress this week.

X-Files fans, be sure to zip over to Marjorie M. Liu's LJ for a teaser of the upcoming movie (!!!!). Oh, what I wouldn't give for that series to be back on the air!

Well, I'm off to have a late dinner and then possibly kill some brain cells on the Xbox 360. Enjoy your night!
