A good chunk of what I wrote today was rough draft quality. I've got a serious case of info dump in one section and a major tone change in the middle of another scene (Hey! We've gone right from completely freaked with guns out to kidding around with each other with absolutely no transition whatsoever! Look, Ma, no hands!). But I wrote some really fun dialogue that I'm pleased with and, of course, carried the overall story forward. That's always a good thing.
As I was making (yet another) note in my To Do List document--the place where I make all my edit notes so that I can stay focused on forward progress instead of having to go back and fix things I've already written--I decided to count the number of notes I've already got. Drum roll, please! I've already amassed 45 edit notes plus another dozen or so smattered throughout the actual manuscript. Some will only involve layering in a sentence or two and others will require me to rewrite entire scenes. And that's not counting phrasing or word choices I've already tagged to be tweaked. *rubs hands together greedily* Oooooh, I can't wait for revision hell!
