I'm heading into crazytown on TLoS. The plot is chugging, chugging... I've been feeling for a while that two of the three main characters aren't really coming across the way that they need to. I decided yesterday that I'm going to try writing in alternating points of view. It will still be primarily written in Megan's POV, the main character, but there will be some scenes written in the POVs of two of the other characters with whom Megan's life becomes entwined. I'm sure this sounds cracktastic, but I think I've got a structure in mind that will make it work.
Let's take a quick inventory, shall we?
"I'll never write YA! *chuckle, chuckle*"
Check.
"Post apocalyptic is lovely, just not for me. *chuckle, chuckle*"
Check.
"Alternating POVs? Oh no. *chuckle, chuckle*"
Check.
What's next? Space? A Western? DEAR GOD, A SYMPATHETIC BIOGRAPHY OF GEORGE W. BUSH???? No...no. It can't ever go that far. I won't let it. But, really. I feel like nearly anything I've neatly erased from my writing future could rear its head at any moment and announce that it will be part of this strange journey of a story, whether I like it or not.
Never a dull moment, people. Never. (Oops! There I go using that word again!)
