A friend of mine who has been sick recently called herself a crypt blob. I have officially de-throned her. I have some sort of disgusting virus (doctor confirmed) which has moved into my throat and chest, leaving me with this horrifically, mannishly, gravelly sounding, sometimes-here-sometimes-not voice (take THAT, descriptor haters!). We won't even get into how I feel.
On the positive side, I've done nothing but lay around and read for several days now. I finally finished BLOODANGEL by Justine Musk (loved!), which I had been reading for what felt like a thousand years--partly because I didn't want it to end and partly because I had very little time right before the holidays. I also read ON THE EDGE by Ilona Andrews (loved!!), LAMENT by Maggie Stiefvater (loved), A GREAT AND TERRIBLE BEAUTY by Libba Bray (liked), and THIRTEEN REASONS WHY by Jay Asher (really liked). I'm hoping to review them here in the coming days, but we'll have to see what plans the crypt has for me.
I also wanted to remind everyone that the INKED anthology is on sale today (woo!). INKED features stories by Marjorie M. Liu, Karen Chance, Yasmine Galenorn, and Eileen Wilks. I'm particularly excited about the Marjorie Liu story, Armor of Roses, which takes place in the world of her Maxine Kiss UF series.
