First things first: surgery went fine. My right middle finger and my right leg are all bandaged up and cranky for the next week or so, but other than that I am cyst free. I don't have much feeling in my fingertip (which is apparently normal during recovery) so that makes typing a bit of an adventure. And showering has become an Olympic event since I can't get either wet. But overall I'm feeling pretty good (well?).
On the writing front, nothing new to report, really. Procrastination and avoidance have become my constant companions. I'm stuck on a few things and I just can't seem to get past them. I realized today that I may not need much more of my MC's backstory than what I already have (item #1 I'm stuck on) so that may be fine. And I think I figured out a way to insert more conflict between my MC and her love interest (item #2 I'm stuck on). So perhaps I'm now unstuck on those two.
Before the surgery I spent some time picking out floor plans for my MC's apartment and her love interests (gorgeous!) house. My mom, Uber-Decorator Extraordinaire, is helping me decorate his place. I'm no good with house stuff. I've lived in my own house for 5 years now and feel like I've barely made it my own. I don't really connect with place like that, never have.
Alright. I'm off to do some work on The Book.
