Apartment scene, take three

I re-wrote the scene again today. *sigh* Third time's the charm though, I think. I saved the previous two versions in a separate Word doc, so if I decide to revert back at least I don't have to try to re-re-write it. I particularly liked the dialogue I had in the second version, so I'm hoping to slip that in somewhere later in the book. I think I'm finally on my way through this scene (hallelujah!) and was able to make significant progress (552 new words, yeah!). Tonight we're off to a friend's for dinner, where the food will be great but the topic of conversation will largely consist of Borat impersonations. Since I refused to see Borat (I'm waaaaaaaay too politically correct to find it funny, I just know it), I'm thinking I'll have plenty of time to think through the next few scenes. Everyone else will be so busy doing 'high fives', I bet they won't even notice me staring off into space. ;) Tomorrow is brunch with my Mom -- Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there!
