The Writing Bug

Yep. I've got it. I came home from dinner last night itching to write (but too tired to do more than fall into bed). I woke up early this morning and went straight for my laptop. I came home from Mother's Day brunch, picked up the house and spent the rest of the afternoon writing. It's been fantastic. I usually enjoy writing (mostly!), but I'm not completely driven to do it every free moment. I sit down at appointed times because I've committed to writing at those times and more often than not, I find myself either watching the clock or the word count, ready to move onto something else. This weekend the writing has gone much easier and my head has been firmly planted in the world of The Book. 517 new words today, along with some research.

I also think I'm getting the hang of what to work on in the first draft and what to leave for the second draft. Very exciting -- makes for much quicker progress when I'm actually making new words instead of staring at my laptop screen. ;)

Happy Mother's Day (again, since I didn't think I'd be blogging today) to all of you with children (human or furry) out there!
