The week from hell

Hello again! I'm back. From where you ask? From the week from hell! We're just going to let last week slip into the void of Things Past and not speak of it again.

That said, I made my word count goal today. Oh, Zokutou, how I've missed you!

Other things to note:

I finished Harry Potter. I have many things to say about it but don't want to post any spoilers in case any of my *numerous* (why, yes, that is sarcasm you hear) readers haven't finished it yet. Hmmm. I can't think of a way to do this safely, so I will avoid it for now. I will just say this: I was very pleased. Wrapping up that series was no small task and Ms. Rowling did it masterfully.

I've begun Jeanne Stein's Blood Drive. I love the first chapter. Jeanne, you rock! I am paying even closer attention to her writing style this time around since she writes in first person present tense which I am also writing my new story in. My other project was written in first person past, which is much more common. If you haven't already picked it up, check out Wild Thing, a collection of short stories including 'Hunter Kiss' the start of Marjorie M. Liu's new Urban Fantasy series, also written in first person present tense.

Let's see. What else. Yard projects are almost done. The last untamed bed was officially tamed last week, leaving me with a sense of accomplishment, a third degree sunburn and a case of poison ivy. Yeah! I still have a handful of things to plant and one nearly dead hydrangea to dig up and return but those are all small potatoes compared to the digging, weeding and mulching that went on over the past couple of months.

That's all the update I have for the moment. Have a great night!
