I forgot to grab the latest word count before I closed out of the story tonight, so no Zokutou. I wrote just under 600 words last night, which was pretty good considering I got a very late start after a visit from my brother Brian, who leaves for college on Friday. My, how the time has flown. Today I hit my 1,000 word goal despite the temptations of Jeanne Stein's BLOOD DRIVE (which is great!) and patches of very itchy poison ivy on both my wrists. Kind of makes for irritated typing. Now I'm off to hopefully finish Blood Drive -- I could barely put the book down today to get my words done!
One last thing to mention--THIN AIR, the newest book in Rachel Caine's Weather Warden series, was out as of yesterday. If you've been reading my blog at all, you'll know what a fan I am of Ms. Caine and the Weather Warden series in particular. It's a small miracle I haven't abandoned my whole life to buy and then read this book, in fact. But, no! I remain a dedicated writer! I will make my word count, dammit!! But anyway, if you haven't already read the Weather Warden books, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Stop reading this blog and go buy them. Now. I mean it. Why are you still reading this? Skeedaddle!

You're making great progress, Renee! And well done for resisting the lure of reading... for a while. :) I've got Jeanne first book on my shelf waiting to be read - maybe I'll give it a try tonight. :)
Thanks for the support, Karen. :) I did finish the book that night -- it's great. Even better than The Becoming, in my opinion. I was out last night so I didn't get a chance to post a review but will sometime this weekend.
