Oh, and...
I FINISHED THE ROUGH DRAFT!!!!! WHOO-HOOOOOOO!!!
I was an insane hermit all week, locked up in the cottage with my laptop. It was all worth it at 2 a.m. Friday when I typed those magical words: The End. Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh.
And now, because I've waited a goddamn year to see this stupid thing full:

I celebrated the next day by reading Marjorie M. Liu's THE IRON HUNT (oh.. sooooooo good. review to follow!) and making henna designs on my cousins for 5 hours. That last may not sound like as much fun as it actually was, but I really enjoyed it. Pictures to follow as soon as my cousin sends them on.
Today...today, I admit, I'm a bit lost. The almost panicky desire to write is most unexpected. I thought I would collapse into a vegetative book-reading, movie-watching, scrapbooking, mindless-computer-game-playing coma for a few weeks and then nudge myself back into the required revisions. Instead, I'm having to nearly force myself to read and relax and leave the WIP the hell alone for a while. I desperately need some distance from it before I can get a decent perspective on exactly how good/bad it is and what I need to do to it (besides rewrite the entire end fight scene ha ha, okay not funny) to make it better.
There is still a fight scene that I have to write. I might work on that a bit over the next week or so. But then, it's getting put AWAY for 2-3 weeks. So there. Nyah.
In the meantime, I need to pull plot ideas for Book Two and The New Series Idea out of my ass brilliant mind and get those outlined. This is something I'm not so good at. It took me a lifetime--literally--to come up with a book-worthy idea for the draft I just finished (!!!). Where do you all come up with your ideas? Not the whole outlined plot, necessarily. But where does that first blush come from that let's you know you just might have something you can build into a novel?
Also, I thought this quiz was interesting so I took it. I'm rather pleased with the results. A. The word 'cuddleslut' rocks. B. Anything that compares me to Kaylee and Hiro is okay in my book. C. Hello? Pics of snuggling puppies? Win.
